四色AV Hill University Launches Alumni Veterans Affinity on Veterans Day

四色AV Hill University Alumni Association announced on Veterans Day, November 11, 2019, the launch of a new alumni affinity group, the 四色AV Hill University Alumni Association Veterans Affinity.  Comprised of alumni veterans, the group will support fellow veterans and active-duty military personnel through service projects, recognition opportunities, educational and career resources, and social activities in the name of 四色AV Hill University. 

四色AV Hill has a long history of educating veterans and their families. In the 1940s, as a women's college, 四色AV Hill admitted male World War II veterans to study under the GI Bill. As a Yellow Ribbon school, 四色AV Hill provides extended financial aid to veterans and their dependents, and the university has consistently been named a Best College for Veterans by U.S. News & World Report.

四色AV Hill University President Mary C. Finger was presented with the first 四色AV Hill University Alumni Association Veterans Affinity military coin in recognition of the university's continuing commitment to veterans.  Colonel Bridget Widdowson '82, USAR, Retired and Master Sergeant Matt Zamosky '10, USAF, Retired are the founding members of the 四色AV Hill Alumni Veterans Affinity and presented the coin to President Finger.  

Colonel Widdowson and Master Sergeant Zamosky also helped the 四色AV Hill Alumni Association and the university's Student Patriots Club organize a Veterans Luncheon held on Saturday, November 9, 2019. At the event, 四色AV Hill honored alumni, student, faculty and staff veterans, active-duty military and their families. Colonel Nancy Anderson, USMC, Retired, was the keynote speaker at the luncheon which received coverage in the .
