Orange County achieved LEED Cities Silver certification by earning 53 points out of
the possible 110 points available across nine credit categories as illustrated. Some
of the most significant strategies that contributed to the certification include the
county’s regional approach towards maintaining the wealth of protected open space,
reducing the county's per-person greenhouse gas emissions, transportation policies
encouraging use of public transit, reduce pollution, environmental equity ensuring
improved quality of life for all its residents.
