Palm Beach County achieved LEED Cities Gold certification—the second highest level possible—by earning 60 out of 110 points available across nine credit categories as illustrated to the right. Some significant strategies that contributed to the certification include the County’s regional approach towards maintaining natural ecosystem areas, reducing the County's per person greenhouse gas emissions, climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies, smart mobility and transportation policy, and ensuring improved quality of life for all its residents.
