Angelica is a civil and environmental engineer from Universidad de los Andes. She holds a masters degree and a PhD from Georgia Tech. With more than 14 years in the green construction industry, she has been a forefront leader of the adoption of green building practices and LEED certifications in Colombia. Her technical rigor and integrative approach has brought together the work of academia, industry, professional associations, and government to advance the field. She is one of the founders of the Colombia Green Building Council and volunteered her knowledge and experience to it since its foundation, she served as member of the board of directors and of the executive committee and as director of the technical committee. She joined Colombia GBC as Technical Director in 2019 where she leads the public policy work, the technical development work and the education work. Prior to joining Colombia GBC, she was co owner of Setri Sustentabilidad and led the technical department of the company. Since 2012 she is part time professor at Universidad de los Andes and leads the sustainable construction field at the Construction Engineering and Management Master Program from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. Angelica is LEED AP since 2008, LEED AP BD +C since 2009, and LEED AP O+M since 2013. Due to her commitment, leadership and technical rigor she was designated as LEED Fellow as part of the class of 2017.
